News:

In class 1 this week we have continued with our diary work based around the book ‘Into the forest’. We have been sharing our work and discussing how we can make it better. We have also been focusing on punctuation this week, looking closely at how we use capital letters, full stops and question marks. We will be looking for this punctuation being used correctly in our work next week. In Science we have continued to observe our bean plants and we have been measuring them to see how much they have grown. In Maths this week we have started working on subtraction and the methods we could use to help us find the correct answer.

I hope you have a good weekend and I will see you all next week.

News:

In class 1 this week we have been reading the wolf’s story. The children have been working in teams to decide who is telling the truth, the Wolf or Little Red Riding Hood. Team Wolf and Team Riding Hood have been coming up with some super ideas and they have been working hard to get their argument across. In maths we have started looking at addition by re visiting our number bonds and how these can be used to help us with our addition. In Science this week our bean plants have continued to grow well. We’ve enjoyed measuring them and we are amazed at how much they are growing daily!

I hope you have a good weekend and I will see you all next week.

News:

We have had a really busy week in class 1 this week! We have been exploring the story of the three little pigs. The children have been using actions to help them to produce a story map, focusing on the beginning, middle and end of the story. We then looked at the alternative tale the three little wolves and the big bad pig. The children will be planning their own alternative tales next week. In maths we have been focusing on number formation and place value. The children have been working hard to form their numbers correctly and to partition numbers into tens and ones.

Have a good weekend and I will see you all next week.
